Dr. Ruth Ann Jordan, born October 12, 1928 in Wayne County, Indiana to Esther and Willard Jordan, passed away June 20, 2012 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She was the loving mother of Diane J (Bert) Saper and Linda J (Jock) Mutschler. She was the proud grandmother of March Saper, Jordan Mutschler and Brodie Mutschler.
Dr. Jordan was predeceased by her brother John Morris Jordan and her younger sister Jane Jordan Nelson.
She is survived by her older sister Barbara Jordan Hansen.
Dr. Jordan graduated from New Castle High School in 1946 and from Indiana University in 1950. She received her MD from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1957. For nearly 50 years, Dr. Jordan practiced medicine as a clinical physician in colleges, corporations and universities in and around Boston, Massachusetts. Often she was the first woman to hold a medical position at these institutions. Of particular interest to her was Occupational Medicine. She was the first woman elected President of the New England Occupational Medical Association and served as President from 1981 to 1984. She was also President of the Norfolk County Medical Society from 1999 to 2001. She was a member of the Columbia University Club of New England.

A private burial will be held on June 30th in New Castle, Indiana.
