Online Obituaries   In Loving Memory Mildred Millie A. McKown 2/28/1911 - 6/27/2012 Mildred “Millie” A. McKown, age 101, longtime resident of Muncie, Indiana, and New Castle, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Henry County Hospital.   She was born February 28, 1911 in Hancock County, Indiana a daughter of the late Jesse and Lucretia (Miller) McKown a 1928 Graduate of New Castle High School.   She was associated with Morrison-Galliher Insurance Company of Muncie, Indiana as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of Pilot International Club of Muncie, very active with her family’s activities, and loved spoiling her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.   Left to cherish her loving memory include, 1 niece, Beki (McKown) Chambers of New Castle, Indiana; 1 nephew, Steve McKown of New Castle, Indiana; 2 great nieces and 1 great nephew; also, several great great nieces and nephews.   She was preceded in death by, her parents and 2 brothers, Robert McKown and Howard McKown.   Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 29, 2012 at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle. She used to work on crafts for our Bazaar. Mary Alice, Georgianna, Millie, a group of them would meet on Wednesday and work on projects and then have lunch together. I was working so alway envious because it did look like fun. They had great stories. We used to have 29 of us go to Conventions and they told stories of fundraising. They sure had some fun times. I was privileged to be at her 100th birthday party and she was still sharp and knew me. What a wonderful classy lady!! Our club is really losing members and there are only a few of us that remember those good ole days. But I will never forget Millie. May she rest in peace. She loved you all dearly.
