In Loving Memory
Elizabeth Anne Nan Miller
8/16/1919 - 7/1/2012

Elizabeth Anne “Nan” Miller, age 92, New Castle resident, passed away Sunday July 1, 2012.

 She was born August 16, 1919 in New Castle, Indiana a daughter of the late George and Ruth Masters Field.  She was a lifelong resident of New Castle, and was a 1937 graduate of New Castle High School.  Mrs. Miller attended Lindenwood College in Illinois, and attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

She had worked for the Henry County Savings and Loan for several years, and also for Miller Monuments, which she and her late husband owned and operated.  She was very involved with her family’s activities and especially loved sharing special times with her grandchildren.  She will be remembered as a master knitter, and enjoyed knitting for over seventy-five years. She loved sharing time with her family at their home in Canada.

Mrs. Miller was involved in many social and civic organizations, including; Lifetime member of the First Christian Church, Westwood Country Club, P.E.O. Club, Agenda Club, Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority, Psi Iota XI, and also served as a volunteer for the Henry County Hospital for several years.

She was preceded in death by: her parents George and Ruth Masters Field, Sister Margaret Field, and husband of sixty-six years John Byron “Barney” Miller, who passed away February 25, 2012.

Left to cherish her memory include: three children Barbara Annas (husband James) of Alamo, California, John Miller (wife Christie) of Chicago, Illinois, Julie Roberts (husband Jack) of New Castle, Indiana, four grandchildren; Shelly Bell, (husband Greg) of Yorktown, Indiana, Amber Fesler (husband Rodney) of Luther, Oklahoma, Michael Annas of Alamo, California, Kyle Annas of Alamo, California, seven great grandchildren; Taylor Bell of Fishers, Indiana, Chayse Bell, Holden Bell, Landon Bell and Kynnadi Bell, all of Yorktown, Indiana, Kaitlyn Fesler and Karissa Fesler of Luther, Oklahoma.

Friends and family may call Friday July 6, 2012 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday July 6, 2012 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Beth Crouch officiating.  Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery.

I remember the Miller family from my working @ Beall's Clothing Store. They were weekly patrons. They were both very personable and she was a very "classy " lady. I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences to the entire family.
