Donna L. Batt, age 84, New Castle resident, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Henry County Hospital.
She was born July 21, 1927 in New Castle, Indiana a daughter of the late Hubert and Leota Peaslee Gordon.
She was a New Castle resident her entire life, and was a 1945 graduate of New Castle High. Mrs. Batt was very involved with her family’s activities, and loved sharing time with her family, and friends. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church over 50 years. She was also a member of the Lady Lions for many years.
She was preceded in death by, her husband of 65 years, Howard D. Batt, on January 10, 2012; her parents, Hubert and Leota Peaslee Gordon; 1-daughter, Beth A. Logan; 1-sister, Phyliss Hukaby; 1-brother, Richard Gordon; 1-sister-in-law, Roberta Gordon; and 2-sons- in-law, Mike Laley and Jeff Logan.
Left to cherish her loving memory include, 5-children, Susan David (husband Butch) of Chandler, Arizona, Cheryl L Laley of Ossian, Indiana, Anita J. Hedrick (husband Mike) of New Castle, Indiana, Dale A Batt (wife Pam) of New Castle, Indiana, Mark W. Batt (wife Teresa) of New Castle, Indiana; 11-grandchildren, Matt McDonald (wife Stephanie) of Scottsdale, Arizona, Jacqui Phillips of Chandler, Arizona, Jason Laley (wife Tisha) of Ossian, Indiana, Melissa Criswell of Lake City, Florida, Erin Bowman (husband Joe) of New Castle, Indiana, Josh Batt of New Castle, Indiana, Amanda Rich (husband James) of Pall Mall Tennessee, Chad Hedrick of New Castle, Indiana, Pam Reno of New Castle, Indiana, Josh Reno of New Castle, Indiana, and Wendy Norris (husband Rex Jr.) of Spiceland, Indiana; 12-great-grandchildren, Peyton, Collin, Gavin, and Kaden Laley all of Ossian, Indiana, Austin Criswell of New Castle, Indiana, Jarrett Gillock of New Castle, Indiana, Lucas McDonald of Scottsdale, Arizona, Alivia and Samantha Rich of Pall Mall, Tennessee, Gage and Briceon Reno of New Castle, Indiana, and Sophia Batt of New Castle, Indiana; also, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the funeral home with Reverend Rex Espiritu and Reverend Jerry Ingalls both officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens in New Castle.
