Carson Davis, age 77, New Castle resident, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.
He was born February 21, 1933 in Monticello, Kentucky a son of the late Clinton and Ernie Elta (Davis) Davis.
He was a New Castle resident most of his life, and always put God and family first in his life.
Mr. Davis was retired as a hammer man from Chrysler Corporation after many years of service. Previously, he had worked for the Mooreland Cemetery, and a stone quarry in Noblesville, Indiana. He was a good musician, and loved playing blue grass music. He enjoyed nature, the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and Nascar Racing, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Helen Louise Davis; 2 daughters, Corliss Ann Davis Poynter of Cicero, Indiana and Ada May Davis Robertson of New Castle, Indiana; 3 grandchildren, Rodney Allan Poynter of Cicero, Indiana, Lisa Ann Poynter of Westfield, Indiana, and Mitch Alan Robertson of New Castle, Indiana; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Maudenna Huckeby of New Castle, Indiana; 1 brother, Kenneth Davis of Monticello, Kentucky; also, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; 2 sisters, Odessa Overton and Grace Huckeby; 1 brother, Grover Jack Owens.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home in New Castle, Indiana. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Mooreland Cemetery in Mooreland, Indiana.
