Michael Stephen Wilkinson

Michael Stephen Wilkinson, age, 63, New Castle resident, passed away Sunday in St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.



He was born January 6, 1945, in New Castle, a son of the late Clarence and Rachel (McDaniel) Wilkinson. He was a lifelong New Castle resident and a 1964 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School.



He retired from Chrysler Corporation in 2001, where he was known as “Wilkie”, after 38 years of service. He was a member of UAW Local 371. After retirement from Chrysler, he worked as a manager at Taco Bell where he was known as “Killer Mike”. He enjoyed spending time with family. He loved nature and outdoor activities, especially fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed collecting hot wheels.



He is survived by his wife, Donna (Tungate) Wilkinson, whom he married July 18, 1964; a daughter, Crystal Wilkinson of New Castle; a sister, Edith Anderson of Richmond; several nieces, nephews and cousins; also, great nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dainty Towe of New Castle, Leonard and Joan Tungate of New Castle, Carolyn and Charles Alfrey of New Castle, Cecil and Barbara Tungate of New Castle, Bobby and Becky Tungate of New Castle, and Delores and Kenny Boykin of New Castle; special friend, Ben Rector of New Castle.



He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Arthur Wilkinson; a sister, Judy Martin; and his in-laws, Cecil and Effie Tungate.



Friends may call from 4 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Macer-Hall Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.macerhall.com
